What hair cut would be good for a teenage boy with thick hair???

i have really thick hair, I mean thick and when ever it gets too thick mum takes me to get it cut. I dont mind it but it always ends up looking rubbish becasue she wants me to have it shorter than i want and stuff. What hairstyle would you reccomend me that is in style at the moment that doesnt require much or any matinence and looks cool?

My son has thick hair too and he also likes his hair longer. His stylist leaves the length (to his collar in the back and over the ears in the front) but point-cuts in choppy layers so it doesn't seem so thick. We also put blond highlights in it (he has naturally light brown hair) which gives it dimension. It looks great!

On gossip girl there's a character called dan humphrey. His hair is like really short but it really brings out the angles of his face. Its really hot right now.

Anyway we could see a pic of you, to see what would look good?

if your hair is thick, you either need to have it short, or when it is medium legth (like eyebrow ish) have it razor cut, thinned and layered, that will take away some of the volume, make your hair flatter, and it will be easier to control

Long Thick Straight hair, What should i do for loose curls and waves? Rollers or Irons?

I have long, semi-thick, stick straight hait. i would like to get curls but it is hard for me to get them and have them stay all day. what should i do and/or use to get the looks i want. i would like loose curls and waves. my hair is tappered and layered around my face. Thank you.

use a curling iron. That works great. Then when you have everything laying the way you want, spray hairspray on it to keep it like that. works for me! good luck

rollers are easy if you are in a hurry.

and a curler works well too, just be sure to use extra strong hold hairspray when you are done.

First of all, make sure you take a bath BEFORE you curl your hair. When you're done taking a bath, put in a curl conditioning cream and take a round brush and shape the curls while blow drying at the same time.

Apply the cream again once hair is dry.

For extra curls use a small iron, then spritz some spray on it to keep it curled.

First, does you hair have layers in it? If not it might be good to get some cut, at least around your face. I have thick hair and I tried using a curling iron but my hair would be flat by the end of the day. The best way to keep curls is to use ceramic rollers. The heat will make them tighter, then spritz your hair with hair spray and then loosen them a little with your fingers. They should hold all day.

Long Thick Straight hair, What should i do for loose curls and waves? Rollers or Irons?

I have the same kind of hair and use both. With the rollers, put gel in your hair first and roll it when it is wet. When your hair is dried and set, and finger combed if you want..just touch it up a little with a large barrel iron. Then spray with extra hold hairspray.

I have this one section of hair in the back that refuses to take to the rollers, so I always have to use the iron too.

Long Thick Straight hair, What should i do for loose curls and waves? Rollers or Irons?

For loose curls I use Goody So finished Spiral Rollers. After you wash your hair blot it dry w/ a towel and the roller your hair section by section the more rollers you use the more curls u will have! Then blow dry cool to warm or if you have to hot are onto you hair (still in rollers). when your hair starts to pull away from the roller your hair is dry and you can take out the rollers and go to work or something or you can do it over night. Now, the rollers do look different then normal roller but I use them I love the result! I hope you do too! Tell me if this works for u!

P.S. I comb it out w/ my finger but do what ever makes your hair how you want it! Happy Curling!

I have a really thick wavy hair what shall i do to it?

my hair is realy thick taht when i wash it , it becomes all poofy! and big!

at summer i do alot of gell and my hair starts becoming with dandruft! and in winter i blow dry it every week! it takes like 1 hr to blow dry my hair! i d like a product or a type of hairstyle which make your hair thinner or something that helps!

I have a really thick wavy hair what shall i do to it?

I use a curling cream from Biolage. You need to get this at salons, but it helps define the waves/curls for your hair. You will want to use about 2 small pumps. I've also gotten spray gel (Pantene or Fructis have worked the best for me) to help the frizz stay down. That's when I want to do my hair curly anyway.

To straighten your hair, I suggest using Paul Mitchell's super skinny shampoo and conditioner, along with their straightening serum (only use about a dime size) and then blow dry and style your hair. I have found that those products work the best for me and can last you a long time depending on how often you use them.

Let me know if you ever have any more questions and have fun!

I have a really thick wavy hair what shall i do to it?

nothing in the world is gonna make your hair thinner, besides you wouldnt want that if it did. I have similar hair, and during the summer it's curly, and in the winter sometimes, it's straight or curly. When I do my hair curly, I just put gel or mousse in my hair, and let it go crazy. Just try different products and see which ones are good for your hair. It doesn't always have to be the expensive ones...hope that helps some.

How can i have a straight and thick hair w/o using any special shampoos? Any advice?

I really have a thin and wavy hair... I envy some of the people because they really have those straight shiny thick hair.. I am an anime fan and I love to make my hair stylish like those animes but having this thin and wavy hair makes it impossible. So can someone give me any advice on how to thicken and straighten my hair? By the way the top part of my head is thinning and you can barely see my head... huhu help..

How can i have a straight and thick hair w/o using any special shampoos? Any advice?

Using special shampoos could really make a difference.

Try Body Envy Shampoo and Conditioner from Herbal Essences. They also have a volumizing mouse and weightless volumizing gel that would probably do some good.

If you don't want shampoos or creams, try a straightening iron. I've been pretty satisfied with my Remington Wet2Straight that's usually about $25. Just make sure to use heat protectant spray or cream to protect your hair from the damages of heat which could cause your hair to look thinner.

Hope this helped and Good Luck!

Just out of curiosity, do you prefer smooth or thick hair?

I'll give an example of each:

I know this is a vain question.

But after seeing an old movie, this brought to mind that when I was a teenager I definitely prefered hair with a lot of body, while nowadays I think smooth hair is more natural, less overwhelming and probably gives one a more youthful look...

This also makes me realize that while I used to mistreat my hair to make it have more body, nowadays I'm sure that noone with natural straight hair, can look as some people we used to see years ago, and they could just obtain that look using products designed for that purpose...

I also guess that thick hair is out of style nowadays, as we no longer see any celebrities with such hairstyles...

Just out of curiosity, do you prefer smooth or thick hair?

Well since your photos of the "thick" hair came from the 80's...

I like smooth hair, the stuff from the pantene adverts, or it can still be curly like in the Herbal Essenceses adverts. But the stuff from the 80's that needed a full can of hair spray... ugh no, I like hair I can play with.

I'm sending the fashion Police around to your place!

Just out of curiosity, do you prefer smooth or thick hair?

deffinatly smooth

Just out of curiosity, do you prefer smooth or thick hair?

depending on the figure, facial features, and shape, i reckon that thick hair dominates.

Just out of curiosity, do you prefer smooth or thick hair?

I like the smooth hair look best myself.

Just out of curiosity, do you prefer smooth or thick hair?

I personally like smooth hair, but for special occasions I like to throw in a couple curls and get a fuller look....

Just out of curiosity, do you prefer smooth or thick hair?

Thick hair lol !

Just out of curiosity, do you prefer smooth or thick hair?

Smooth hair thats been back combed at the top to give height!

so a bit of both i suppose :)

Just out of curiosity, do you prefer smooth or thick hair?

thick, full and curly like mine and it is very much in style. I use to be a hairdresser and my best friend is currently one now and it is all the rage and never goes out of style

Just out of curiosity, do you prefer smooth or thick hair?

thick hair is better because u could do so much with it.... thick hair has lots of volume which is great

and oh yeah thick hair as in nowadays (with lots of volume) not like in the 80's

Just out of curiosity, do you prefer smooth or thick hair?

Smooth and think together is what I have

A hairstyle for thick hair?

I have thick hair and every time i wear it down it just poofs up and gets all frizzy. So i always just end up putting it in a ponytail and i'm sooooo sick of doing that!any help?should i cut it or let it grow or anything else???any suggestions?

A hairstyle for thick hair?

Straighten that hair.

Layer and thin it out. If you go to a place like Fantastic Sams its cheap and they don't mess it up (usually).

A good hair straightener can cost as little as $20 (I have an Andis ceramic plate one ... its thin too). I recommend the thin ones (like 1/2") because they're easier to work with. Especially with hair that freaks out.

If you use damage protecting shampoo/conditioner and use something that is heat activated or heat protecting (they have sprays or cream stuff) you don't have to worry about damaging your hair.

I would also recommend using Frizz Control Garnier Fructis conditioner. It works wonders.

well..maybe u can try to layer ur hair, layer can make ur hair looking more thin...

i got a think hair too lol! but now it looks better with layer...

A hairstyle for thick hair?

My cleaning lady//friend had a thick head of hair and wore it down to her neck and showed up y'day with it cut much shorter and took 10 years off of her and she is mid-50's. Loved it so much I took a photo of her.She cleans our condo like a whirlwind and it made her so hot with it long. No longer a problem and her family at first did not like it but now they do. But wear it to suit you. It is your head of hair!(told her i would fire her if she let it grow back long and thick!)ha.

Your beautifician may have suggestions or check out the bauty style magazines the shop carries for idea.

My Hairs Just Like Yourss !!

Recently iBought Some Straighteners (Visiq 8.99 !!)

They're The Best Ones Ive Had And Theyre Extremely Good.

iRecently Had My Hair Cut Just Below My Shoulders And It Flicks / Goes Poofy All Thee Timee !

But If It Was Longer It Wouldn't; Cause It Didn't Before.

So I'd Recomend Growing It Quite Long And Straightenening It .

But Also Having It Thined Out Would Help :)

How can i get my thick curly hair to turn into wavy hair using a non-chemical relaxer?!?

i have extra thick curly hair and i want to turn it into wavy hair using a non chemical relaxer any tips?!

How can i get my thick curly hair to turn into wavy hair using a non-chemical relaxer?!?

Nothing that I know of other than blow drying it straight with a blow-dry lotion (forgot the name of the one we use...sry) or using a flat iron or hot comb...

You could try the relaxers for children? They're really really mild and don't completely relax the hair.

Otherwise, you can get a "texturizer" that makes the hair less curly, but it still is a chemical relaxer.

How can i get my thick curly hair to turn into wavy hair using a non-chemical relaxer?!?

the only thing i can think of is to use large sized rollers and let it dry. that usually does the trick.
