Hairstyles for thick hair??

I have thick long brunette hair. It's 6inches past my shoulder. it tends to get frizzy and poofy alot. I wear it in a pony tail and straighten it alot. I have wavy hair. Anything else I could do, (if I let it down it gets all poofy and frizzy all over.) So i want some quick and easy hairstyles that I can do. i wana try different hairstyles... even if i have to straighten my hair but i dont like to straighten it everyday it gets to be a pain

My hair is like that too. I have it cut into short layers and the hair dresser thins it out when she cuts it. That helps cut back on the poof and frizz, so I can wear it down more. Most days, I wear it in a messy bun. Sometimes I clip it up, or put it in a low side ponytail. Braids also work great, although with short layers you have to use a lot of bobby pins.

How about a long thick braid...............? You could do it in the back one day and on one side over your shoulder the next.

my friend does too, so she buts in a half ponytail and then curls the hair that is up

Your hair sounds just like mine and something that I have started doing often (besides straightening) is taking a shower at night and then not brushing my hair, but sleeping on it semi-wet. This leaves it with really pretty curls in the morning.

ps: this works most of the time, but it is not totally predicable (sometimes you just get lucky...)

I think your hair description fits mine pretty much exactly :) A few things I can recommend for the frizz - VO5 extra body shampoo and conditioner, for one. I love my hair, and I'd be up for spending a lot on shampoos... but I've tried pretty much everything, and this is my favorite! I get actual structured waves/curls with this, instead of either limp hair (like from smoothing shampoos) or a big huge cloud.

Also, if you're blow-drying.... air-drying really cuts down on frizz, and helps bring out actual curls.

For hair-styles - you can pull your hair into a low ponytail, but then on the last loop, leave your hair doubled, without pulling it through all the way. Kind of like how some people do a messy bun, but it looks a lot different with long hair.

Well, hope that helps!
