I have been growing my hair for the last 7 - 8 months but I am almost at the point of giving up, My hair is so thick and curly its impossible to do anything with it. When its dry its a 6 inch high afro look alike. I can only slick it back which makes me look like some 80's wanna be. I was tempted to get it chemically straightened but have been a wee bit scared off with alot of comments that i've come across. Ideally i dont want to touch the length or 'thin it out much'. Any ideas on what I can do?? Thanks...

seriously, thinning it out will make a huge difference (i have curly hair toooooo!) it makes it nicer curls, but more defined and less 'poofy'!
