Haircuts for thick hair?

I want to get a major haircut change, but it needs to be cute and not get old in a week! Right now my hair is about 3 inches below my shoulder, dark brown, and realllllly thick. Any pictures would be great! Also, any ideas would be wonderful! Thanks.

Well, the shorter you go the poofier (if that's a word) your hair will get when you leave it curly. Trust me..my sister has curly hair and when she cut it off to short, it was HUGE. So doing a short hair cut like a bob, would not be a good idea, though it depends on just how curly your hair is. If your hair is just kind of wavy, then that would be fine, but if it's pretty curly, then to have a short hair cut you'd have to straighten it every time you washed it.

Keep it rather long....down to your shoulders at least, and have them put long layers in it. If you want to change the color, get some natural looking highlights (ask your stylist what colors would look best) If you don't have bangs(fringe), maybe get some. Certain styles of bangs will go best with whatever your face shape is. (ie..Bangs that go straight across your forehead and cover your eyebrows will not be good on you if you have a round face.) Once again, ask your stylist what he/she thinks would go best.

I have the same hair type, except blonde.

Try getting it layered, it takes away the thickness. oh and side swept bangs would be really cute too!

Ask the stylist or whoever is cutting your hair to get it thinned out. And if you have a heart shaped face( where your forehead is longer across than the area of your chin), go for sideswept bangs.

i think you should get it cut to shoulder length with layers.

Add some side bangs.

would look really cute. especially with thick hair. Your hair will look like it has more volume as well..

Sounds like my hair. Just get it layered enough so that it doen't poof quite as much. I think a good way to play around with your hair is to dye it a different or funky color. A Demi or Semi permanent dye would be sweet.
