How do you make short thick/sharp hair stay in place?

im a male with thick short hair but it is slowly growing. I'm trying to go for the look where the hair flows to the side, but i cannot figure out how to make it stay in that position. i just can never make it look how i want it to. ive tried to do some research to see if anybody else is having this problem and nobody seems to! can anybody help? if it helps here is a link of what it looks like. the guy on the right.

it's a combo of the cut and the hair product you're using. A razor cut (not a buzz cut) will encourage that soft side swept look, but you need a pomade or similar product to help it stay once styled. Look for a product that will add weight but remain flexible (pomade, Paul Mitchell's The Works, Bed Head's Manipulator, etc.) Hope that helps.

Uhhh use herbal essence hair mousse. it doesn't make your hair really hard and gross and white, it smells good too. comes in 6 scents

umm to help it stay up the best thing would be bobby pins

Try american crew hair my personal suggestion is the grooming cream...not too sticy or oily but holds extremely well.

spray gel works great

If it is quite short probably 5 cm, you have to use a lot of gel to make it stay in place.

If it is 10cm long, then you wont need to put a lot because it's length is quite okay.^^

I'm sorry I can't see your pic, I don't own a MySpace.
