I have had very thick curly hair since i was little, i currently use a straightner but its not getting my hair straight enough for me, what else can i use in additon to the straighter to get it straight
I have thick, curly hair, how do i get it to be very straight?
1. have it well conditioned. It takes some experimenting, but just find the right conditioner for yourself. My personal favorite is Aussie deep, but there are plenty of others.
2. Deep conditioning. Do it more than just once in a while, i deep condition about twice a month and it makes a huge difference in split ends and seems to make my hair easier to straighten
3. Long hair- I attempted short hair at one point in life, and it was a terrible idea. It just doesn't go with curly hair (if you want it straight, that is) Some people can make it work but it's a lot of effort. Length weighs hair down
3. Get a good straightener. Conair makes great ones. Try to go for those that include boar bristles that clip onto the straightener itself, it really does help to smooth things out
4. A hat. No seriously, wear a hat when your hair is semi damp and it will keep it from looking really puffy at the roots
5. if you want to be really drastic, you could invest in hair relaxers. I've never used them but I've heard their effective
Good luck!

You need to go to the hair salon and ask them to thin your hair that will help allot.I think you will be very satisfied with that. Then it will be much easier to manage.
Good Luck!
P.S. I would not get a hair salon straightener! That is the worse mistake you could make.It will fry your hair.Talk to a professional. They will tell you the same thing. All it would do is make your hair frizzy.I know I did it.It is taking forever to get my hair in good shape.I have to get it cut all the time trying to get all the bad hair cut out.
pss: All a salon straightner is,is a perm and you comb your hair over and over again with the solution in your hair.

i have thick curly hair too and you would never know!
heres why;
i shower @ night, and let my hair dry while im sleeping.
then i wake up and straiten my hair w/ a salon straitener (some are expensive butttt, theyre miracle workers)
also before i straiten it i put in this stuff,,, its a pink L'oreal bottle
its in walmart or cvs, etc
its makes your hair smoother and shinier for after its straitened
it takes me 40 minutes to do my hair everyday :(
but ya know, i hate my hair so..

What kind of flat iron are you using?
I recommend the Remington Flat CERAMIC Iron. The face is shiny. My sister has extremely thick, wavy hair and this iron not only straightens her hair, it makes it shiny too!
Check out this link. This is the one my sister and I have:

Well first get some stuff that will protect your hair from heat then put a product that will stop frizz or a combination something thats for frizz and good for holding it in like a mouse. Then section it off starting from bottom to top n blow dry. After u blow dry then u iron it or use your straightener but if it's thick n curly it's better to blow dry first.

i have curly hair as well %26amp; know your predicament. I found the Ouidad has some good products that actually keep it straight - even in humidity.
I use a conair ceramic plate straightner to get mine super sleek. i got it from amazon.com for $20. It has a 'Turbo' button for courser hair. It worked amazingly on my hair %26amp; did not take long to straighten my shoulder length hair.
